What changed in the CFB 27 roster update?

The July 16 Title Update added new uniforms, helmets, and player likenesses for several teams, along with the Week 1 Roster Update for the 2026 season. Here is the full breakdown of every confirmed change.

New uniforms

The CFB 27 roster update added new uniforms for the following programs:

  • Tennessee — New Adidas uniforms with blockier, old-school numbers. The black alternates are coming in a future update.
  • TCU — Dublin uniforms (for the Ireland game) and the popular "Blood Frog" uniforms are in the game.
  • Texas — The SEC patch was moved to the correct location (under the collar, not where the Nike check is).
  • Florida — Updated number fonts on orange jerseys.
  • Alabama — Numbers made larger (they were too small before).
  • Arizona — Uniform updates (numbers and other details changed).
  • New Mexico State — New home and away uniforms with "state" script on helmets.
  • Toledo — New white uniforms.
  • Georgia Southern — Navy pants updated to match this year's look.

New helmets

The CFB 27 roster update added new helmets for the following programs:

  • Illinois — Script orange helmet and script blue helmet.
  • Cincinnati — White helmet added.
  • Rutgers — American flag helmet.

Week 1 Roster Update

The Week 1 Roster Update for CFB 27 was a coordinated release with the Title Update on July 16. It brought current rosters that reflect how each of the 138 college teams will look on September 5. For CFB 27 Dynasty players, the Week 1 Roster Update is the version to start a new save with. The previous launch-day rosters had several high-profile transfers misclassified.

How to force the roster update

If the roster update is not applying automatically:

  1. Restart the game fully.
  2. Restart the console or PC.
  3. Sign out of your EA account and back in.
  4. Check that automatic updates are enabled in your platform settings.
  5. Manually trigger the update by going to Manage Game → Updates on console, or by clicking "Check for Update" in the EA app.

Dynasty impact

The roster update affects Dynasty saves. If you start a new Dynasty save after installing the update, the rosters will reflect the latest player ratings and transfers. Existing Dynasty saves will see the roster update apply, but transfers that have already happened in your save will not be undone. For Online Dynasty, the commissioner needs to confirm the roster update is applied by every league member. Mismatched rosters will cause sync issues.

Mascot Mashup additions

The roster update included several new mascots for the Mascot Mashup mode:

  • 8 additional FBS mascots
  • 4 FCS mascots
  • 2 historical mascots (which the community has been requesting since launch)

How to verify the update is installed

  1. Boot CFB 27.
  2. Go to the main menu.
  3. Look at the version number in the bottom-left corner. It should display 1.005.
  4. Navigate to the Rosters menu and check the "Last Updated" timestamp.

If the version is not 1.005 or the roster timestamp is older than July 16, 2026, the update has not applied.
