Source Hierarchy
Official First-Party Sources: These are the gold standard. When EA SPORTS publishes a blog post, issues a press release, or a developer gives an interview to a verified media outlet, that information is treated as confirmed. We link directly to these sources wherever possible.
Platform Store Listings: Product pages on official platform stores are treated as confirmed information for pricing, release dates, and feature descriptions. We note which specific store listing we are referencing.
Retailer Listings: Retailer product pages can provide early information but are sometimes placeholder data. We treat retailer listings as indicative rather than confirmed unless corroborated by an official source.
Gaming News Outlets: We reference established gaming journalism outlets with editorial standards and correction policies. We evaluate each outlet's track record and attribute information to the specific publication.
Community Sources: Information from forums, social media, data miners, and community members is treated as unverified unless corroborated. Content relying primarily on community sources is clearly labeled.
Attribution Standards
Articles include explicit source attribution. The Sources and Methodology section on each article page lists the primary sources used. When new information updates or contradicts a previous claim, we update the article and note the change.
Pre-Release Information
Before the official launch of CFB 27, most information comes from official EA pre-release materials, platform store listings, and confirmed media previews. We do not publish unverified leaks as fact. When discussing pre-release features, we clearly note that information is based on pre-release materials and subject to change.
