How We Handle Corrections
When an error is identified in a published article — whether by our editorial team during routine review, or by a reader who reports it — we take the following steps:
- Verify the error against source material to confirm the correction is needed.
- Correct the article promptly upon verification.
- Add a correction notice at the bottom of the article, including the date of correction and a brief description of what was changed.
- Update the article's "Last Updated" timestamp to reflect the correction date.
Types of Corrections
Factual Corrections: When a stated fact is wrong and is replaced with accurate information from a verified source. These are always accompanied by a public correction notice.
Clarifications: When the original text was technically accurate but potentially misleading. We add clarifying language and note the update.
Updates: When new information becomes available that supplements or updates the original article. These are noted as content updates, not corrections.
Reporting Errors
Readers who identify potential errors in our articles are encouraged to report them to [email protected]. Please include the article URL and a description of the potential error, along with any supporting sources. We review all reader correction reports and respond as quickly as possible.
