1Lock team name and short name — Draft a full name plus a short display name. Confirm the character limits in the builder's preview before committing.
2Pick primary, secondary, and contrast colors — Choose a small palette and check home/away contrast so both uniforms stay readable on the field.
3Prepare a square logo with a transparent background — A square PNG with transparency is the safest starting point. Check the builder's accepted formats and size limit before uploading.
4Set a short abbreviation for scoreboard use — Used in overlays, ticker, and standings. Keep it simple and avoid special characters.
5Choose mascot name and type — Pick a mascot identity that fits the brand; browse the builder's mascot options before deciding.
6Plan roster size before editing players — Decide how deep each position group needs to be for your scheme, then confirm the roster limit shown in the builder.
7Create QB depth chart (3-4 players) — Plan at least a starter, a backup, and a development QB so an injury never breaks the save.
8Fill RB, WR, TE positions (min 3 deep each) — Plan enough WRs for multi-receiver sets and at least two TEs for heavier personnel packages.
