Status: Crossplay Is Live
Since College Football 27 launched on July 9, 2026, crossplay has been live and fully supported across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This is the first entry in the series to ship on PC — available through the EA app, Steam, and the Epic Games Store — and EA built cross-platform play in from day one so the player base is never divided by hardware.
Mode-by-Mode Support
The current state of cross-platform support covers the game's core online experiences. Dynasty supports mixed-platform online leagues of up to 32 players. Road to the College Football Playoff matchmaking draws from a single cross-platform pool. College Football Ultimate Team supports crossplay in head-to-head play, and Play a Friend — including Play Now and Mascot Mashup — works across all three platforms. Within Online Dynasty, the Members tab shows which platform each league member is playing on.
Matchmaking and Settings
Players who opt in to crossplay are automatically placed in the cross-play matchmaking pool, which keeps queue times short by combining all three platforms. Crossplay is on by default for new players on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Xbox players manage the setting through the console's system settings, while PS5 and PC players can toggle it in the in-game Cross-Play tab. Opting out limits matchmaking to your own platform.
What You Need
The requirements are straightforward: a copy of College Football 27 with all relevant updates installed, an EA account, an internet connection, and a platform account for your chosen system. Friend invites across platforms run through the EA Connect menu's Player Search tab using an EA ID or platform identifier.
The bottom line: crossplay in College Football 27 is not a rumor or a roadmap item — it is live, it covers every major online mode, and it makes this the most connected entry in the franchise's history.
