College Football 27 expands Road to Glory with three new playable positions: Tight End, Edge Rusher, and Free Safety. These additions allow players to experience the journey from high school to the Hall of Fame in new ways. The creation process is about discovering the type of player you want to build, with options to build your player and set your path. Features like Max Potential Cap Breakers and Mental Abilities are part of the system to help reach your full potential.
Meaningful Decisions and Managing Potential
The Road to Glory mode is centered on meaningful decisions. According to the developers, every choice has consequences. Your performance on the field, decisions off the field, and how you manage your career all shape your path. Reaching your full potential is about how you handle pressure, develop, manage your body, respond to setbacks, and take advantage of opportunities. Coming out of high school, expectations are placed on you, and in college, you must live up to, exceed, or reshape that projection.
The Journey from High School to College
The journey begins in high school, where you prove your potential and earn scholarship offers through high school recruiting. Signing Day marks your transition to college. Once on campus, you are welcomed to college and begin tracking your Draft Projection and Career Legacy Score. The mode includes weekly agendas, fitness management, scenarios and dilemmas, practice, and gameday progression. Your Legacy Score and Max Overall are tracked throughout the season, with end-of-season coach meetings and the option to enter the transfer portal. The ultimate goal is to leave your mark on the sport and earn a place in the Hall of Fame.
Release Details and Cover Athletes
College Football 27 is set to release on July 9, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows, with early access on July 2 and 6. It is the first title in the series to be available on PC. The game features 138 playable teams, including new FBS additions North Dakota State and Sacramento State. The standard edition cover features Oregon quarterback Dante Moore, Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy, and Miami wide receiver Malachi Toney. The Deluxe Edition cover also includes Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti, USC quarterback Jayden Maiava, Notre Dame cornerback Leonard Moore, and Texas defensive end Colin Simmons.
College Football 27 is the third game in the EA Sports College Football franchise since its return. The Road to Glory deep dive has provided a comprehensive look at the mode, which is set to offer a deep, decision-driven career experience.
